North or south
Most Tenerife hikes north of Teide on this site walk through laurel forest in Anaga or above Masca in Teno, yet most pickups leave from the southern resorts. This guide sorts all fourteen listings by area and by pickup town, with the drive times the listings give. Prices start at $27 per person.

Quick answer
The short answer. Staying in the south, around Los Cristianos, Adeje or the south coast? Five hikes start with a pickup there, including our top pick, the $245 night climb of Teide for the sunrise and the summit, and the $100 forest hike above Masca. Staying in the north, around Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava or Santa Cruz? Two hikes collect you there: the $99 relict woods above Masca and the $159 El Pijaral day in Anaga. With a car, the $27 Anaga walk meets at the Cruz del Carmen car park.
The island in four parts
Four hiking areas, two coasts to sleep on, and a pickup that joins them.
The guided hikes on this site sit in four places. Anaga is the forested range in the north-east. Teno is the north-west corner, with the village of Masca and the gorge that runs down to the coast. Teide National Park takes the high middle of the island, and the old Camino Real is walked near Santiago del Teide.
So the Tenerife hikes north of Teide are mostly forest walks: Anaga for the laurel forest, Teno for the views over Masca. The southern resorts in the pickup lists, Los Cristianos, Adeje and Costa Adeje, sit on the coast, away from both. That is why the pickup matters.
North-east: Anaga
The Tenerife hikes north of Santa Cruz, in the Anaga range, by fare. Two include a pickup; one offers it as an option.
The guide waits at the Cruz del Carmen car park; pickup is an option to check when you book. 2.5 hours on foot on the Bosque de los Enigmas trail.
No pickup. You meet at a car park at a junction, at about 1,000 m, which the listing calls «ideal for arrival by bus».
A southern pickup for a northern forest: three points in the south, «the nearest point to your hotel». Two hours of hiking and an hour on your own in La Laguna.
You meet at the Playa de Las Teresitas car park, walk three hours down to Antequera beach for a swim, and a speedboat brings you back.
Pickup in seven towns: Icod de los Vinos, El Sauzal, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Los Gigantes, Los Realejos and San Andrés. 5.5 km, up to four people.
The north-west
Tenerife hikes north of Teide, seen from the trails.
Jagged brown ridges drop towards a deep blue ocean, and a thin road winds across the valley to a handful of houses.
The grey cone of Teide rises over pine-covered hills, with a small village and green terraced fields in the valley below.
North-west: Teno and Masca
Of the Tenerife hikes north and west of Teide, three stay above or around Masca; one walks down the gorge itself.
You meet at bus stop 4549 in Las Portelas at 10:00 and walk 3.65 km to Masca. You reach the start on your own, and the public bus back is not in the price. It needs at least six adults.
You meet in the square of Santiago del Teide by the church and walk 5 km down to the coast, where a boat takes the group to Los Gigantes. Entrance and transport tickets are bought separately.
The pickup for northern stays: Tacoronte, Bajamar, Garachico, La Orotava, El Sauzal, Puerto de la Cruz, La Victoria de Acentejo, Los Realejos and Icod de los Vinos, plus Adeje in the south. 7.5 km, up to six people.
Hotel pickup along the south coast between Los Gigantes and Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje included. Staying in the north, you meet in Santiago del Teide. About 8 km, a light picnic.
Teide and the Camino Real
Four volcano hikes and one old road, all reached by road from the coast.
Our top pick, the $245 night climb, picks you up in Los Cristianos and brings you back there. You start at about 4 am, watch the sunrise from a viewpoint at 3,200 m and reach the summit, 3,718 m, between 10:00 and 11:00. The listing calls it strenuous.
The $105 sunset hike picks you up in Adeje for a 5.5 km walk to a 2,000-metre peak in the national park, with a lava tube on the way. The $179 Pico Viejo crater day includes pickup without naming towns. The $212 climb to the peak has no pickup: you meet at the Teide cable car car park.
If you came looking for Tenerife hikes south of Teide, the $66 Camino Real is the listing that places its trail in the south of the island. It collects you at three points around Los Cristianos for four hours on the trail near Santiago del Teide.
